Research activity abroad

Any research activity abroad must be authorised by the PhD Board and communicated to the Settore Dottorati e Master office.

Before going abroad, doctoral students must:

– Apply to the Board of teachers, well in advance, for authorisation to carry out their study/research activities abroad. The request includes travel days.

– Transmit the self-certification to the Settore Dottorati e Master within 10 days from the start of the research activity abroad.

Any interruption or change to the period abroad must be promptly communicated to the Settore Dottorati e Master.

Upon returning to their place of residence, Doctoral students must provide to the Coordinator and to the Settore Dottorati e Master the certificate issued by the host institution certifying the period spent.

The amount of the grant is increased by 50% for a total period not exceeding 12 months, extendable up to 18 months for doctorates co-tutored with foreign universities. The increase cannot be received for stays spent in the doctoral candidates’ country of origin/residence.
