Course description:
\nThe last decade has seen a dramatic increase in the use of panel
\n(longitudinal) data in all social
\nsciences. The availability of large scale longitudinal studies in all social
\nscience disciplines has
\ninstilled a parallel growth in the development of estimation techniques
\napplicable to these data.
\nThe aim of this course is to prepare a solid ground for empirical research
\nusing advanced econometric
\ntechniques for analyzing panel data sets. The course will be equally
\nbalanced between lectures and
\nhands-on computer labs handling empirical applications using R.<\/p>\n

Learning outcomes:
\n– Gaining an understanding of econometric issues involved in the analysis of
\npanel data
\n– Knowledge and experience in conducting panel data analyses
\n– Numeracy and IT skills in doing panel data analysis in R
\n– Critical insight to appraise other researchers’ results using panel data
\n– Gaining theoretical knowledge about statistical properties of panel data
\nestimators<\/p>\n
